Reach God - Gained Enlightenment - Family Life

Can a human being reach stage of enlightenment in absence of teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism? Traveling spiritual path was difficult... prime reason why only very few people gained enlightenment while remaining in Grihastha ashram (family life). Spiritual path is always willfully traveled... never a benediction from God Almighty.

Path of spirituality demands indulging in contemplation all the time. Contemplation was the only means to negate karma to zero if we truly wanted to reach God in present life. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... both gained enlightenment in their lifetime by indulging in contemplation on God Almighty.

There was never a shortcut path in the field of pure spirituality. If we wanted to travel spiritual path... our indulgence in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was an absolute must. In present times... in the present Kali Yuga, Dark Age... metal age none could reach God without indulging in teachings contained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism!

All souls’ atmans underwent a maximum of 1.1 million manifestations in human form to reach stage of total purification. To cut across shackles of karma in totality, God Almighty ordained a long journey of 12.4 million earthly years in human form. This can be achieved in a limited time span of 70 to 80 years of earthly life, provided we had the will exhibited by Swami Vivekananda.

Enlightenment can be gained while remaining in family but such a path was extremely difficult to travel. The other path was that of an ascetic. When young, I wanted to go in search of God all alone. When I asked my mother for permission to leave confines of home forever... she did not permit! I continued my journey of spirituality while remaining in the family.

It is only now I realize that accomplishing what I accomplished on spiritual path was extremely difficult in present times. We are presently passing through Kali Yuga phase of life... a period of totally strife and tribulation. My submission to God Almighty always was absolute. In present times I do not find people so dedicated... so submissive to God Almighty!

Without indulging in proper karma... human beings ran after fruits of karma all the time. People preferred indulging in vice more than good karma, Punya karma! All depends on our ultimate goal of life. Only those human beings who were as competent as Swami Vivekananda are fit enough to travel spiritual path in present times to reach God.

 Full text of query: Can someone seek enlightenment only when his time has come? Very few people have been enlightened by remaining in family life. Is this too something that needs special benediction? Is enlightenment a gift from God and that man has nothing to do in it? Or is it man’s role to seek it and undergo the hardships in an ascetic life to get it.
