What is the difference between atman and brahman. How are we under influence of
Maya (veil of Illusion), when we are the brahman itself?

You
get it all wrong... it is our soul atman that is of the same essence as God Almighty....
not the bodily form... the human being! If a grain of sand is an individual soul
atman... the whole mound God Almighty. Every soul atman manifests a total of 8.4
million bodies before it reaches the last leg of cosmic life when it finally liberates
from the cycle of birth and death. No further manifestations... the liberated
soul atman finally regain its original pure pristine form.
The
definition of God Almighty as detailed in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita... cluster
of all purified souls atmans in the Cosmos at a given point of time is what we
know as God Almighty! At the time of dissolution of the Cosmos... the entire size
of the Cosmos reduces to half a thumb. And what is this half a thumb? Devoid of
all impurities within... every soul atman reaches the 8.4 millionth manifestation
and the volume of all purified souls atmans is half the size of a thumb!
The
entire mass of all purified souls atmans in the Cosmos is the size of half a thumb.
This prime energy... the cluster of all purified souls atmans in the Cosmos we
know as God Almighty... unable to retain itself for long in its prime pure state
again explodes with a big bang... giving rise to a new cosmos... a new journey
of life! The relationship between individual souls' atmans and God Almighty is
clear. We simply need to understand the cosmic crux of life!
Life
in the cosmic domain is not to be understood literally. One need dive deep into
the bottomless pit of cosmic Wisdom to gather the pearls of wisdom contained therein.
Bhagavad Gita... the most sacred Scripture of Hinduism existing on Mother Earth
contains everything knowable. The knower of Bhagavad Gita finally becomes the
knower of all... one gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha)
at the end of the journey!
In
the human form alone we have 1.1 million manifestations before human beings gain
enlightenment and salvation. God Almighty never desired Human beings to gain enlightenment
and salvation early. The journey of 1.1 million manifestations in the human form
is covered in approximately 12.1 million earthly years... a long journey indeed!
To keep the puny human being performing karma on its behalf... the doctrine of
Maya was created by God Almighty!
For
human beings to think it is the Creator of all that is visible to the senses is
a misnomer. The fact is the Cosmos seems to be without a boundary. Even if we
presume the Cosmos has a boundary... then what beyond? In the absence of the boundary
of the Cosmos... the whole Cosmos itself must exist in the imagination of God
in the similar fashion as things exist in a dream!
This ignorance
of human beings is termed as Maya in Hinduism... the veil of ignorance when removed
makes one reach the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation
(moksha). Truthfully whatever exists in the system of God seems to be merely a
thought of God Almighty. Broken down to the basic building block of the whole
Cosmos... the entire Cosmos is nothing but gaseous formation.
When
viewed from the senses... everything appears solid. Truthfully... the whole Cosmos
is nothing but absolute gaseous formation formed by cluster of atoms and molecules.
God Almighty is the only truth of life... rest all being the impurities contained
therein! By negating the presence of God... we're negating the existence of Cosmos
itself. Furthermore, human beings can never reach the status of Brahman. We are
what we are!
Having
regained our prime pristine original form... every soul atman gains a seat into
the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism). The kingdom of God is a point
of no return. Every liberated soul atman once having entered the abode of God
cannot leave the precincts of the kingdom of God until the dissolution of the
Cosmos occurs.
We
also need to understand that God Almighty, the Karta... the Creator of the Cosmos
always acts has a Dhrista (onlooker) and never interferes with the creation of
his. The complete functioning of the cosmic system is preordained and destined
like a massive supercomputer. As is our invocation of the mantra and the prayers...
so shall be the result! As we sow so shall we get... nothing less or more... so
says the doctrine of karma!
Everything
in the cosmic system is governed by the law of karma and not God Almighty. The
moment a new cosmos gets created with a big bang... the doctrine of karma takes
over. Every human being nay every living being is directly governed by the doctrine
of karma. Whatever be the cause... none can escape the clutches of karma until
one reaches the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation and
finally gains enlightenment and salvation.
Our
soul atman is the master and governor of the body and not vice versa. It is not
within the capability of the body to manifest a soul atman. Every soul atman manifests
bodies to work out its karma... remove the impurities... dross within! Similar
as the metal within an ore cannot separate itself on its own and requires requisite
mining machinery... our soul atman also requires a chain of bodies to work out
its karma... remove the dross within!
The
liberated soul atman that regains its original pure pristine form finally joins
the bigger whole... God Almighty himself! The moment one reaches the stage of
enlightenment... the complete crux of life... the secrecy of the cosmic system
becomes absolutely clear to the individual... the enlightened one! Never before
gaining enlightenment does the crux of the cosmic system become clear to one!
The
moment sun shines in its glory... night is nowhere to be seen! Similarly moment
the Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita enfolds before us... the veil of Maya... the veil
of ignorance vanishes forever! The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita given to mankind
by Lord Krishna does not have a parallel! The prime reason why Lord Krishna is
always termed as an Avatar (God manifest in human form) and not a man god like
Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed!
Life
in the cosmic system is primarily governed by spirituality... not religion. Only
serious seekers of spirituality tread the much dreaded path of spirituality...
the unknown domain always different for all beings... goal always remaining the
same... only paths vary! As many human beings... as many paths to God Almighty
can there be. Following the path of Bhagavad Gita is the sure shot method for
reaching God at the earliest!
Lord
Vishnu is one of the facets of the Indian trinity of Gods. In Hinduism the Indian
trinity of God consists of Shiva aka Mahesh (the destroyer), Vishnu (the maintainer)
and Brahma (the Creator). There has never been any person or God like Shiva or
Mahesh, Vishnu and Brahma! We simply have three aspects of God in Hinduism. The
Creator of the Cosmos is termed as Brahma. The maintainer of the cosmic system
termed as Lord Vishnu. The destroyer and the ultimate maintainer of the cosmic
system is Shiva... one who also controls death of all beings!

You say that there is basically no difference between us and brahman.and maya
is the illusory power of brahman,and brahman controls it. then how come we are
under maya,when we are the brahman itself,and what is your opinion on srimad bhagvat
which categorically states the supremacy of Vishnu/Krishna?
