God-Realization: Please advise me on to the path of god realization!
Vijay
Kumar:
Path of
god
realization: before indulging more on the subject of god realization
we need to know the meaning of god realization.
God
realization and self realization primarily mean the same thing. It is the path
of god realization treading which one reaches the end of cosmic journey (the stage
of salvation, moksha as in Hinduism).
Having
realized God one becomes a living
Mahavira, Buddha, Jesus
Christ or Prophet
Mohammed. It has been clearly stated in Bhagavad
Gita (the doctrine of cosmic wisdom passed on to mankind by Lord
Krishna in the battlefield of Kurushetra between Pandavas and Kauravas)
that traversing the path of Jnana Yoga one finally demolishes the bond of the
earthly life.
No
further manifestations for atman the soul within... the soul atman finally liberates
forever from the cycle of birth
and death. It is not a small happening. It is the culmination of cosmic
journey of 8.4 million manifestations as a whole (a total period of 96.4 million
earthly years).
Having
reached the goal... this atman soul reaches its pristine pure form. Back into
its original state this atman soul resides permanently in the house of god (known
as Baikuntha in Hinduism).
We
also need to understand that in the last about 150 years only two persons have
reached the level of god realization... they were Sri
Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana.
It is normally one or two
persons amongst the total mankind of 6000 million people who are able to reach
the level of god realization and that too about every hundred years. A real difficult
goal to achieve indeed!
God
realization also announces the end of family life. Only after we have burnt our
karma in totality (that is we have completely exhausted our karma) one reaches
the level of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... the stage when one has a dialogue with God
Almighty creator on one-to-one basis. Reaching the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi
is the end goal of every yogi (a true seeker of Spirituality).
God
realization also announces that one needs to follow the path of absolute celibacy
for a continuous minimum period of 12 years at a go. Practicing absolute celibacy
is a must if one desires to reach the level of a god realized soul for it is during
this period that the Kundalini of one gets fully activated resulting in the opening
of the Shastra Pushpa within the brain of one.
Unless and until the Shastra Pushpa within the brain of one is fully activated...
one cannot attain Kaivalya Jnana... the stage when one can truly invoke all the
wisdom contained in the Cosmos through the power of Shruti. As stated in the Bhagavad
Gita... the path of Shruti Jnana is the one and only path that leads one to absolute
wisdom.
Practicing
absolute celibacy involves creating a distance from the woman folk. It is this
stage when one has to regard all women on Mother Earth as their mother, sister
or daughter. There is no other relationship which can exist with a woman. One
can proceed on the path of god realization even while remaining in Grihastha Ashram
but it definitely requires to be understood that there shall come a stage when
even those whom we call our very own... our Parents, brothers and sisters and
children shall lose that special bonding... the thin invisible bond which made
us bonded to them eternally... the bond of motherly affection.
In brief... one must always attempt to proceed on the path of god realization
in the present life but only after the full responsibility of family life has
been taken care of. Does this mean, "we must not become a true seeker of
spirituality while remaining in the Grihastha Ashram"? No, it is like this!
We must try to
enter the domain of spiritual life step-by-step as there are many phases which
are required to be completed. Unless and until we start early during the family
life itself, it is most unlikely that reaching the ripe age of 60 years and beyond...
one would truly be able to proceed on the path of god realization.
In
most cases the responsibility of the family ceases around 50 years of age. And
we still have many more years to go. It is this time when we must fully concentrate
on reaching the 8.4 millionth manifestation in the present life itself.
God realization is the ultimate goal of every living Jiva (living being) whether
we like it or not. The end of life for every Jiva culminates in one reaching the
stage of god realization in the end. It is a different matter that the form of
human being (the highest manifest stage in the cosmic life) is the highest evolutionary
stage and the only stage when one can realize god and reach the stage of salvation
moksha in this life.
Proceeding
on the path of god realization within this life itself encompasses many attributes
such as... developing a sharp intellect and a highly developed power of concentration.
This definitely helps one while carrying out family duties. The power of concentration
so developed makes one standout amongst the masses.
All
accomplished entrepreneurs in business like Bill Gates and JRD Tata etc. had a
highly developed power of concentration... and this was achieved by repeatedly
performing acts (though most of the time unknowingly) contained in the sacred
Bhagavad Gita. Following those pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita...
practicing which one becomes a master of his destiny!
Every single step forward in the field of his spirituality has its own merits.
We must never negate spirituality purely on the ground that it would lead to getting
away from the family. On earthly plane it may seem so but on the cosmic plane...
we are all but bound by the invisible hands of god. We only do our bidding as
has been enforced upon us based upon the balance residual karma of the previous
lives manifested by us.
Practicing
spirituality truthfully and trying to reach the end (attaining the stage of god
realization) is something what God Almighty wants of all Jivas (living beings).
We may desire or not but there shall come a stage when every individual human
being shall have to pursue the path of god realization in the end.
In
a nutshell, the best way to practice spirituality is removing all the doubts within
us step-by-step. It is only the process of self inquiry (practicing Neti) that
shall lead to our atman soul removing the dross from within. I have realized god
within this life... I can guide many others on this path.
Sending pinpointed queries and logically inferring the truth in the answers shall
lead one to reaching the stage of god realization in the end. As all the queries
within one come to an end... one would have realized god within this life. It
is the stage of total purification of atman the soul within.
One
can send me as many queries as one wants but to assimilate the wisdom contained
in the answers is the whole crux. Initially the truth may appear beyond grasp
but slowly one would find self proceeding ahead on the path of pure spirituality
step-by-step. This is the only way to proceed truthfully on the path of god realization.

I was interested in Knowing the eternal truth when I was 18 - 20 years old. I
started reading Gospel of Ramakrishna and came to know the real truth of our life.
After that I
got a job and was involved much in the profession and stopped practicing the spiritualism
and got married and a addition burden to forget about god. Still
I have something in the corner of my mind that, I am deviating from the aim of
life to realize god, but unable to go forward.
I like visiting the great temples like Thirupathi, Shirid, Mantralayam and still
some more powerful places and visit them now also to get satisfaction for my soul.
I feel now I have attached to much to the material things and worldly life and
not concentrating on god due to work pressures or insecurity towards the settlement.
Please advise me on to the
path of god realization.
