Can you tell how to proceed on the Path of Spirituality?

The
path of spirituality is fraught with extreme conditions of life. For a woman particularly
traveling the spiritual path is difficult... the prime reason why only two ladies
in the whole history of mankind gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally
salvation (moksha) in their lifetime.
They
were Gargi... the famous philosopher who defeated Pundit Mandan Mishra in the
famous Shastratha (discourse) on the topic of sex. Gargi understood the topic
of spirituality as detailed in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita correctly. She stated...
the human body is a mere garment for a soul atman within... what value of sex
that distinguishes men from women.
Only
when viewed from the senses point of view... mankind appears divided as men and
women... two sides of the same coin! From the cosmic angle... every human body
is pure gaseous formation... a cluster of basic building block of the Cosmos...
atoms and molecules! Gargi finally overcame all the shackles of mortal world before
gaining enlightenment!
The
second was Maitreyi... the famous wife of Sage Jnanavalakya (the compiler of Brihadaranakya
Upanishad). No matter what... Maitreyi was after gaining Brahma jnana... the ultimate
Wisdom gaining which one reaches the stage of enlightenment forever. No amount
of dissuasion made her change decisions in life.
Sage
Jnanavalakya once offered half of his materialistic wealth to Maitreyi with the
hope that she leaves her goal of life! Maitreyi who was definitely after gaining
enlightenment enquired whether possessing half the materialistic wealth of Sage
Jnanavalakya... she would gain enlightenment! Sage Jnanavalakya simply laughed
of the matter! He understood what Maitreyi meant and was really after! Thereafter
he never tried to dissuade her from the path.
Why
is it so difficult for women to gain enlightenment on the spiritual path? What
is that ingredient of the materialistic world that forbids women traveling the
spiritual path! The deeply imbibed feeling of Moha (affection) makes women unworthy
of traveling the path of spirituality! If women would not take care of children...
who would?
God
Almighty ordained women to take care of children... not only of her own but even
others loitering on the street. No woman can just look the other way if she finds
a child crying on the road! It simply cannot be. The deep imbibed feeling of Moha
affection makes her attend to the weeping child... though momentarily!
To
cut across the shackles of Moha (affection) is extremely difficult. In the history
of mankind only Gargi and Maitreyi succeeded in doing that. If you feel you have
the guts and the power to cut across all the shackles of mortal world... do proceed
on the path of spirituality! Primarily... traveling the spiritual path is what
human beings are meant for!
Who knows what
we shall be in the next manifestation... why not travel the spiritual path now!
Travelers
of the spiritual path need establishing absolute control over five senses and
the mind. For womenfolk this is extremely difficult to practice! To shun the materialistic
requirements is not the Forte of women! Not even one in a million practices that!
Apart from establishing absolute control over five senses and the mind... one
needs practicing absolute celibacy.
Voluntary
celibacy for a continuous minimum period of 12 years is the basic necessity! Non
indulgence in sex physically constitutes hardly 10% of celibacy. The rest 90%
is practicing mental celibacy which is extremely difficult to practice. The celibacy
mantra is available in various articles on my website.
Following
the path of Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana...
one finally transcends all barriers of physical mundane life. Connecting to God
Almighty seems easy but difficult to practice. Only serious seekers of spirituality
having a fixed goal in life finally transcend Samsara (worldly life) forever.
In
a nutshell we need to decide the ultimate goal of our present life! Having a fixed
goal in life is journey half covered. Pursuing the goal... the path of spirituality
with the bulldog determination of Winston Churchill with all eggs in one basket
finally paves way for reaching the end of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation
when one finally gains enlightenment and salvation!
In
the present circumstances... you are the best judge of your life! To travel or
not to travel the spiritual path is the sole prerogative of every individual human
being! Better we start the spiritual journey early! Your every query that arises
on the path can be taken care of. There is nothing in the whole of Cosmos that
is beyond my reach!
You
can always address your queries to me as and when they arise! The day all queries
within one dissolve forever... one finally gains enlightenment and salvation...
the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi permanently!
