Query: What is the state of consciousness one experiences after death of body?

You act out of ignorance. You do not want to understand the basic crux of life. after death of body... which only occurs when consciousness within leaves the body for ever... how is it possible that the thing which goes to heaven or hell relates to the body it manifested!

We very well know that it is atman the soul within the body that has manifested this body. It is never otherwise. It is not within the powers of the body to manifest a soul atman. This atman the soul within the body is what we call pure consciousness... the real absolute truth of us.

Without the existence of an atman soul... there is nothing we call as body. after death of body... the soul atman is free to manifest another body depending upon the balance residual karma. If the balance of karma is so that this soul atman shall manifest a body in the house of a King... it is likely that one would be born a prince.

Alternatively if the balance of karma demands our birth in the house of a cobbler... none can change our destiny.

The states of consciousness mentioned by you... jagrit, swapna, sushupti or unconsciousness all relate to the body. after death of body nothing like jagrit, swapna, sushupti or unconsciousness exists. It can never be. It never is. All these states of consciousness directly relate to the body which is governed by the five senses and the mind and not to atman soul which is pure energy.

Let me tell you... the states of heaven and hell exist only for atman the soul within our body. These are interim stages in the life of our atman soul. If matching parents are not available for the atman soul to manifest a body... it is imperative for the atman soul to reside either in heaven or hell for that period depending upon the accumulated balance of karma.

And our soul atman being pure energy form... it is beyond the reach and comprehension of the five senses and the mind. Pure consciousness... our true inner self... our atman the soul within is beyond all that is ephemeral in nature. It can never be destructed or destroyed. This pure energy is but a miniscule form of God Almighty.

Here I am clearing an anomaly that the bodily self can never travel to heaven or hell for all these states exist in pure energy form. None has ever seen God... nor heaven or hell! The question of a human being reaching heaven or hell in a state of consciousness thus does not arise.

Full text of query: Had a question about the after death consciousness. After a person dies (irrespective of the fact as to where he is going - to heaven or hell) when he travels to these abodes .ie. heaven, hell etc. then what is the state of consciousness - .ie. whether it is in the state of JAGRIT, SWAPNA, SUSHUPTI or UNCONSCIOUS.
