Query: The Bhagavad Gita made easy - Gist of Bhagavad
Gita...
Vijay
Kumar:
The Bhagavad Gita made easy... sounds simple but contemplating wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita was not that
easy... as it seemed! The contents of sacred Bhagavad Gita cannot be inferred literally... it demands reading in
between the lines! We have to logically understand the underlying meaning of various precepts of Hinduism contained
in Bhagavad Gita!
No wonder how many times we read Bhagavad Gita... the situation remained the same! The
contents of Bhagavad Gita are not supposed to be digested literally! The wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita is the
path to gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in present life! On path of pure spirituality we have nothing to
gain... rather we have to discard dross impurities within!
The moment complete dross impurities within our
soul atman removed forever... one reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)! The prime purpose of all sacred
scriptures laid in the fact that by assimilating pearls of wisdom contained in various sacred scriptures of
different religions of world... we eradicated dross impurities within our soul
atman.
In Hinduism is soul is termed atman.
In absence of dross impurities within... our soul atman was pure consciousness! But to
achieve this stage of pure consciousness every soul atman needs manifesting karma... to remove dross impurities
within! The ultimate goal of life always remained... annihilating our karma to zero. This becomes possible by
establishing absolute control over five senses and mind.
Control over five senses and mind is a gradual long drawn process! Something that is required
to be achieved in 1.1 million manifestations in human form... achieving it in a life span of 70 to 80 years is
nothing short of miracle! If Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana could do it... so can
others!
Eradication of karma in present times could not be done via path of bhakti yoga... path of religion... path of
rituals! In the present scientific age eradication of karma becomes possible through path of jnana yoga... path of
absolute wisdom... path of contemplation! Indulgence in path of self enquiry was a sure shot method of reaching God
in present life.
Maharishi Ramana advocated path of Neti (not this, not this) as means to reach God in present
life! Indulgence in Neti lying in shavasna pose of yoga is a sure shot method of gaining enlightenment (kaivalya
jnana) in present life! Maharishi Ramana was a free practitioner and staunch advocate of path of Neti... something
he practiced all his life until gaining enlightenment!
I have myself followed path of Neti (not this, not this) as a means to reach God in present
life! As per my personal experience Neti was best practiced while lying in shavasna pose of yoga... and that too
when going to sleep! Neti need not be practiced while indulging in daily routines of life. Neti can always be
practiced in free hours... when going to sleep!
Bhagavad Gita primarily advocates following path of pure spirituality to reach God in present
life! As stated in Bhagavad Gita... none could reach God via path of religion... path of rituals! Logistics played
a very important role in understanding teachings of Bhagavad Gita! Bhagavad Gita can be understood only with an
open mind.
Unless we were truthful to core... we would not be able to assimilate pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita!
Most human beings indulged in religion than Bhagavad Gita to reach God. Such ignorants can be found in hordes in
religious centres of India like Haridwar and Varanasi! Why indulge in ephemeral pursuits of life that carried no
meaning!
Virtues can only be gained by travelling spiritual path... never path of religion... path of
rituals! No matter how many dips we took in sacred Ganges River... one could not wash away sins of present life
that way. Karma can only be negated by indulgence in positive karma... good karma all the time! Those who pursued
materialistic goals of life never gained anything on spiritual path!
Understanding Bhagavad Gita becomes easy when we travel path of absolute truthfulness!
Comprehending jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita was not as difficult as most human beings world over
projected. Values of life always lay in small affairs of life. By leading a simple life... by remaining truthful to
self and God Almighty one could easily gain enlightenment!
Most interpretations of Bhagavad Gita available worldwide... more particularly in India does
not carry any merit! Those who did not gain enlightenment in their lifetime... how could such interpreters of
spirituality know the truth! Anything related to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana is of great help
on spiritual path.
In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over... only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and
Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)! Why not follow path of these
enlightened ones and reach God early! Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana were down to earth
persons!
Having burnt their ego in totality... having dissolved their ego forever... both these
spiritual stalwarts initially started in search of God via path of bhakti yoga... path of rituals... path of
religion! But finally both switched to path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) as detailed in sacred Bhagavad
Gita of Hinduism!
Stage of enlightenment could not be reached in absence of teachings of Bhagavad Gita.
Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism forms summum bonum of spirituality... epitome of spiritual pursuit! Any human being world
over desirous of reaching God in present life must follow dictates of Bhagavad Gita without fail! In absence of
Bhagavad Gita none could reach God.
Enlightenment could not be gained via path of Christianity, Buddhism, Islamic Dharma or any
other religion of world other than Hinduism and Jainism. Lord Krishna who was an avatar of his era (God manifest in
human form) belonged to India and so did Mahavira and Gautama Buddha.
Both Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed owed their spiritual knowledge to wisdom of Bhagavad Gita! In the entire
history of mankind not a single human being reached God in absence of teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. The 700
shlokas (verses) contained in Bhagavad Gita can be easily understood by following path of absolute truthfulness all
throughout.
Truthfulness is that inherent ingredient of cosmic system following which human beings
definitely reached God! We must always remember... path to God Almighty was via path of spirituality... never
religion... rituals! Indulgence in Bhagavad Gita meant indulging in pure spirituality... pure wisdom! Bhagavad Gita
of Hinduism contained truth but only truth!
