You say... you desire becoming a Buddha... a Mahavira in present life time by realizing God! It sounds so simple... so easy but do we ever realize how many Buddhas or Mahaviras have we truly come across in life as of date! God realization... self realization means becoming a Buddha... a Mahavira in present life time!

Reaching stage of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa... Maharishi Ramana is not that easy as we think! Literally reading sacred texts gets us nowhere! The pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita can never be fathomed literally... it needs reading in between the lines! For reaching God Almighty... we have to travel path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom)!

In the present scientific age God Almighty can never be reached via path of bhakti yoga! Furthermore desires and wishes carry no meaning in spiritual world! Acharya Rajneesh (née Osho)... Sri Aurobindo... Swami Vivekananda did not gain enlightenment in their lifetime! And you say you desire realizing God by following path of dhyana... chanting of mantras!

Path of spirituality has nothing to do with religion... path of rituals! Chanting of mantras does not carry any meaning in present times! Path of self enquiry... path of Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana is the only way out in present times! In the spiritual world everything need not be expressed literally.

Without awakening of kundalini shakti... no human being world over in past or present could have realized God in one's lifetime! Full awakening of Kundalini Shakti is mandated for reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in present life time! For full awakening of kundalini shakti... practice of absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation is necessitated!

Most spiritual seekers failed on this parameter of life! In the later stages of his life, Acharya Rajneesh mixed sex with yoga. His experiment of mixing sex with yoga was an absolute failure... so much so that Acharya Rajneesh was summarily turned out of United States of America... a totally demented and demoralized person! Acharya Rajneesh died brokenhearted.

In the path of pure spirituality... there is no scope for wishful experimentation that results from sheer ignorance! Even though Acharya Rajneesh was a highly accomplished saint and could have gained enlightenment in his lifetime... but on path of pure celibacy... he bitterly failed! We just cannot let sex enter path of yoga! It is a taboo on path of pure spirituality!

By celibacy we mean transmuting our sexual desires to more creative uses! Sexual energy is the most potent of all energies made available to mankind by grace of God Almighty! Given an outlet through pure physical channels... this potent cosmic energy gets wasted! For a serious seeker of spirituality... transmuting this potential source of energy is a sure shot method of gaining enlightenment in ones lifetime!

Traveling path of rituals... you would never accomplish anything worthwhile on the spiritual path! Some say spiritual path is full of thorns! Rightly said... spiritual path is not full of thorns... it is made of thorns! By cutting across all shackles of karma human beings finally gained enlightenment... never otherwise!

The moment our karma reduces to zero permanently... one finally gained enlightenment in ones lifetime! Full awakening of kundalini shakti... practice of absolute celibacy... annihilating the karma forever are all independent ingredients on path of pure spirituality! Enlightenment is not that easily gained... prime reason why we had only one Mahavira... one Buddha!

I get so many queries daily from world over from people desiring gaining realization in present life time! But none has time or inquisitiveness to contemplate on the available spiritual material! Various essays and articles existing on my different websites suffice for human beings to reach stage of enlightenment in their lifetime.

In my 54 years of travail... I have yet to find a single person who could clearly define to me the meaning of religion, meaning of spirituality, meaning of God, meaning of meditation or yoga! Without understanding the underlying meaning of spiritual terminology how could we ever reach stage of enlightenment whatsoever!

In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over only two persons succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! Reading anything related to these spiritual stalwarts is of great help. The process of self enquiry advocated by Maharishi Ramana is a very unique concept!

Lying in Shavasana pose of yoga I used to follow path of Neti (not this, not this)... the path of self enquiry! Days passed by... then months... then years! As I never had a preceptor to guide me on spiritual path how was I to ever know when I would realize God! I continued my spiritual travel all alone... scared at times!

The path of kundalini awakening is too scary! So much so that when I had to face many hooded cobra face-to-face, I shifted my bed to my mothers’ room! I practically had no other alternative. After about a month or so when my fear subsided, I shifted my bed back. During this one month... my parents could never understand why I had shifted my bed to their room!

The path of self enquiry... awakening of Kundalini Shakti... practising celibacy is independent of each other yet connected spiritually! It is not that one ends and the other starts! All the processes continue simultaneously. Path of spirituality demands highest level of patience, persistence and perseverance that can ever be practiced by human beings.

We need the willpower of Swami Vivekananda to gain enlightenment in ones lifetime! If Swami Vivekananda had desired gaining enlightenment... he could have easily done so! His goal of life was different... he wanted to serve the community to its best! For the sake of community welfare, Swami Vivekananda let go enlightenment that he could have easily achieved!

The likes of Swami Vivekananda are difficult to find! Such a sacrifice for the sake of community welfare is difficult to find in present times! No matter what, Swami Vivekananda would gain enlightenment in his next manifestation! One who is powered by God Almighty himself... who can stop such a one from reaching stage of enlightenment!

 Full text of query: Thx for writing great articles. I have read RAMAN Maharishi quite a bit. I don't remember he talking about kundalini yoga. He made strong case for self inquiry. How these 2 paths are related?

I have a strong desire to get realization in this life. I am doing quite a bit dhyan and matra japa (together). It creates heaviness in head area. I feel some strong energy filling my head. I do get to the stage of no thoughts. Some tmes, I do self inquiry as well. Should I stick to just one path (mantra and dhyan) or continuew with self inquiry as well?
