Spirituality was not something that demands explanation! Spirituality always was inherent... existing in all living beings including human beings since the beginning of time! How? Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism states we are primarily spiritual beings... a soul atman... the spirit within on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations that entailed an earthly life of 96.4 million years. If we believe in this concept of Hinduism... the better for us as other than Hinduism no other religion of world explained concepts of spirituality as Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.
Our belief in concepts of spirituality stemmed from the fact that we are primarily spiritual all the time but, our ignorance... our Aham ego prohibited us from realizing this absolute truth of life! Finally realizing our true inner self... realizing we are a soul atman... the spirit within is what spirituality is all about! The journey to gaining enlightenment is traveling spiritual path... undertaking spiritual journey! If we desired gaining enlightenment and finally salvation in present life time... an exceptional level of spiritual growth was demanded of us in present life. Unless we were spiritual all the time... we could never scale all barriers of spiritual pursuit.
Spirituality can only be lived via path of Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the one and only sacred scripture that personified spirituality to its best! It is following wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita... human gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime! The path of spirituality demands highest level of perfection that can ever be practiced by human beings. Prime reason why not many gained enlightenment in the West other than Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed!
As a human being... how do we understand what spirituality was all about! In the present scientific age spirituality was all about taking path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom for unearthing pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita! Unless we indulged in self enquiry... unless we indulged on path of Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana... none in present times could travel spiritual path sincerely and diligently. In simpler words spirituality meant living life of Yogi... a mystic even while living in the family.
As detailed in Bhagavad Gita... we are not a
physical manifest form undertaking spiritual journey! We are in fact a soul atman... super consciousness that
manifested human form to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within! By indulging in jnana yoga... by
indulging in self enquiry... Neti we finally reached the absolute truth of our real self! We finally realized...
we were a spiritual being on its earthly journey. We manifested human form to cleanse self of dross impurities
within and reach stage of absolute purity! Of its own... no soul atman could purify self... it needed a
medium... a body to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within!
For a spiritual traveler... for a spiritual seeker the present physical manifest life carried no meaning! Humanity forsook spirituality for the only reason that it took human beings away from present physical manifest life! It was an accepted norm in Hinduism that spiritual travellers left confines of home (family life)... to meditate in isolation in deep dense jungles (forests)! Such a practice in present scientific age was not necessitated as per Bhagavad Gita! Even while living in Grihastha ashram (family life) one could practice spirituality at its best!
Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa did it... so could others!
Spirituality was something different from religion! Both spirituality and religion had absolutely different connotations. While spirituality took us to our Creator... omnipotent God Almighty, religion indulged only in rituals! Practitioners of religion never truly achieved anything in life! By following path of religion... by following path of rituals no one ever reached God Almighty. Simply by praying to God... worshipping God... none could reach God in one's lifetime!
The correct path to reach God is via spirituality never religion... path of rituals! No wonder how many years we prayed to God Almighty... how much we indulged in worshipping God... one never reached God via path of religion! Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana initially started in search of God via path of religion... path of rituals... path of bhakti yoga! But finally both switched to path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom to reach God Almighty!
Spirituality is knowing truth of spirit... our soul atman within! Spirituality is realizing we are a spiritual being on its cosmic journey that needs reaching abode of God Almighty (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism) at the earliest! Vaikuntha... abode of God can only be reached when a soul atman... the spirit within finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever! Devoid of all dross impurities within... having negated karma to zero forever... the purified soul atman finally entered abode of God (Vaikuntha), the moment human beings took salvation... moksha forever!
Death of human beings never meant reaching
Vaikuntha... as many human beings world over... more particularly in India thought! By traveling religious
path... by indulging in mundane affairs of life... if human beings thought one could gain enlightenment and
finally salvation... we were totally wrong in our surmise! Enlightenment... salvation is not gained that way!
Truth of our inner self can only be known by traveling path of pure spirituality as ordained by God in Bhagavad
Gita!
Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is one such scripture that finally led human beings to God Almighty! It is Bhagavad Gita that tells... karma can only be negated in totality by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. In the present scientific age... in the present Kali Yuga... Dark Age... metal age, dominated by bloated egos and greed for materialistic riches human beings preferred traveling religious path of life than spiritual! Could such human beings ever be expected to reach stage of enlightenment and salvation?
As per Bhagavad Gita... spirituality could never be taught in schools or colleges! Spiritual life coaching does not mean anything in spiritual world. No matter how best spiritual life center we attended... we would not reach anywhere on spiritual path. Spirituality is something that could never be taught by anyone! The wisdom of spirituality always comes from within. By following our inner instinct... by indulging in self enquiry... Neti (not this, not this) human beings slowly step-by-step eradicated traces of karma within our soul atman!
Spiritual preceptors... those who had already gained enlightenment in their lifetime can become our guide in the journey of life. Preaching half baked theories all the time through medium of TV or Internet... can search religious preachers who had no iota of what they were talking about... could ever teach... preach anyone anything related to spirituality? In yesteryears in Hinduism... there was a Gurukul parampara in which teachers and students lived as a community! Even though teachings of Vedas and Bhagavad Gita were imparted to students... essence of spirituality was always learnt by students on their own! At no stage of student life there was any compulsion!
Spiritual meditation carried meaning only if we traveled path of spirituality as ordained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! Spiritual growth workshop... spiritual life coaching carried meaning only if one followed teachings of Bhagavad Gita ceremoniously and sincerely! One could never learn intricacies of Bhagavad Gita while following Western culture! For complete spiritual cleansing... for learning what Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was all about... undertaking spiritual journey was mandated by God Almighty!
In the field of pure spirituality... sexual
relationships had no meaning! One had to permanently overcome sexual inclinations forever if one were to pursue
spiritual journey as the goal of life! Abandoning indulgence in sex in Western culture was almost a taboo...
something that was difficult to practice... even more difficult to comprehend! Practice of celibacy demanded
abstaining from a sexual relationship in totality. For travellers of spiritual path... as per Bhagavad Gita only
two indulgences per month (one was preferable) were ordained by God Almighty!
Does it mean... those who gained enlightenment were not sexually inclined! Exactly the opposite is the truth. All those who gained enlightenment in their lifetime... in the initial stages of life were highly sexually active. But all of them transmuted sexual desires towards the only goal of life... followed path of spirituality until they reached God! By sexual transmutation any human being world over could easily travel path of spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.

We must also remember that path of spirituality is a one-way path! Once having proceeded on this path... there is no possibility of reverting back ever! Perhaps they wanted to gain everything in present life never realizing that God Almighty ordained covering spiritual journey in a maximum time span of 12.4 million years... the journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form! There is no shortcut path to reaching God in field of pure spirituality!
In the field of pure spirituality we can never look forward to results. Rather field of pure spirituality prohibits one indulging in results whatsoever! Why? As the journey of life belonged to our soul atman... the spirit within and never the manifest physical form... fruits of all karma performed by human beings also belonged to our soul atman... and never the manifest physical form! This clearly indicates that results of spiritual progress in case of human beings were not a matter of speculation! We had to keep moving on and on... irrespective of results obtained on spiritual path!
In my entire spiritual travail of almost 50
years... two persons sincerely wanted to travel spiritual path under my guidance. But after a certain period had
lapsed... both quit spiritual path as results of their efforts were not directly visible! Human beings who
waited for results of their spiritual efforts failed to realize that they were only an instrument in hands of
God Almighty. The doer of all action was in fact our soul atman... the spirit within! Many people known to me
finally succumbed to severe spiritual depression as results they expected were not forthcoming!
I practically started in search of God when six years of age. At that young age I had no inkling what I meant by searching for God. But truthfulness attracted me like anything. I wanted to remain truthful to one and all unless God ordered me otherwise. It was only when I reached 13 years of age... my simple whimsical desire to see and meet God in this very life finally firmed up! No matter what... come whatever may... in this very life I shall see and meet God became my motto!
Although we had no hurry to travel spiritual path... undertake spiritual journey early but our present life is limited to the present earthly span of about 70 to 80 years of human life! As we do not know after death of present body what form our soul atman manifested in next manifestation... it is better we travel spiritual path now! The journey of spirituality is always covered gradually in steps like a student completing class one... class two... then class three! A quantum jump from class one to class 10 was never possible and so is the case with spiritual journey! Everything could not be achieved in one life form... we had to cover spiritual journey in steps!
But Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, prophet Mohammed, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... all gained enlightenment and finally salvation in their present life time! If they could do it... there was a reason behind it! By practising absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation... one could expedite spiritual journey! It is like not taking the staircase... but the elevator straight up! By understanding intricacies of celibacy and kundalini awakening... any human being world over can finally manifest life forever!
If we really wanted... we can always become absolute master and controller of life! The reign of destiny always laid in our hands and not in hands of God Almighty as most human beings world over thought! Manifesting destiny is gaining success in life... not material success but success that meant gaining tangible riches in life forever!
Spirituality is something that just could
not be summarized in few words! For human beings to crossover ocean of Samsara (worldly life) was a gigantic
task! The most important ingredient of spirituality was remaining truthful always and ever in life! Unless we
were truthful... one could not hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman... that seemed to come from
within our heart! Prompted by the voice of my soul atman... indulging in precepts contained in Bhagavad Gita...
following path undertaken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... I finally realized God in 1993
at 37 years of age! This is my last manifestation on mother earth!
Having become a pure soul atman... having reached cosmic end of life... 8.4 millionth manifestation... nowhere else to go further, I shall but attain salvation moksha... moment I left my mortal frame! The essence of spirituality never laid in teachings of sacred scriptures alone. One had to be truthful all the time to one and all in life including self. We could not pursue path of Aham ego and still expect to travel spiritual path. For a serious seeker of spirituality... material riches carried no meaning! What a true seeker of spirituality always wanted was... earning Punya karma... that always manifested in next life!
After death of human body... nothing transfers to next manifestation except residual balance of karma! By earning Punya karma in present life... we can look forward to a better manifestation in next life! In present life if we were born a laborer... it is quite possible that by traveling path of spirituality in present life... we manifest form of a Prince in next manifestation! It is easier for a Prince to travel path of spirituality than a laborer who all the time remain indulged in trivialities of life! Poverty was never a curse... but definitely it is an impediment to spiritual awakening that came from within!
In Jainism... all the 24 Tirthankaras
(preceptors) who gained enlightenment in their lifetime were either princes or kings! It has rightly been said
in Hinduism... with an empty stomach none remembers God! Unless our daily requisites of life were taken care
of... no point traveling spiritual path! If we had a family to support... it becomes all the more difficult to
undertake spiritual journey with total sincerity and discipline! But for an ardent seeker of spirituality...
nothing was impossible! For a serious seeker of spirituality... reaching God early was what mattered
most!
Spiritual journey simply means understanding the absolute reality of life! As stated in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... we are primarily a spiritual consciousness... a spirit on its cosmic life cycle of 96.4 million years! This entire cosmic journey by a soul atman gets completed in a total of 8.4 million manifestations of which initial 7.3 million manifestations occurred in insect, plant and animal form! In remaining 1.1 million manifestations in human form we are supposed to reach our true inner self... our soul atman... the spirit within! The moment we as a soul atman gained absolute purity... one finally reached 8.4 millionth manifestations... last in cosmic life cycle!
From first manifestation to last by a soul atman... the spirit within... journey of life progressed through complex process of karma. It is karma that facilitates movement of life from one manifestation to another... from one body to next! In absence of karma... nothing in cosmic system could exist... all would wither and die! When death of mortal body occurred... it was residual balance of karma that decided what body our soul atman manifests in next life! Our karma in present life played a very pivotal role in cosmic crux of life. As long as dross impurities within our soul atman existed... our indulgence in karma was necessitated by God Almighty! It is karma that helped a soul atman purify itself in reaching logical end of cosmic life.
The spiritual journey definition was best detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Man gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and prophet Mohammed reached stage of enlightenment by following precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita was made available to mankind by grace of God Almighty... more than 1000 years before coming of these man gods! Such is the power of jnana (wisdom) contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... any human being world over by deliberating on Bhagavad Gita could easily reach stage of enlightenment in ones lifetime. The teachings of Lord Krishna contained in Bhagavad Gita had no parallel in mankind. Everything contained was truth and only truth. For becoming a pure soul atman... for cutting across shackles of karma forever... our indulgence in wisdom contained in various sacred scriptures of different religions was necessitated. Spiritual journey could never be traveled via path of religion... path of rituals! No human being ever reached God via path of religion... path of rituals. For reaching God in present life... undertaking spiritual journey was mandated by God Almighty. Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was not a textbook... essence of which could be known literally... it demands reading in between the lines. For knowing inner truth of life... we had to indulge in self enquiry... path of Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana.
Path of self enquiry... path of Neti (not
this, not this) was best practiced in savasana way of yoga! By indulging in pranayama (breathing process) one
finally reached source of breathing! Our soul atman... the spirit within dwelt in our heart! It is through
process of pranayama human beings finally reached their soul atman... the spirit within! Truly self enquiry,
Neti and pranayama of Hinduism played very vital role on path of pure spirituality. If Sri Ramakrishna
Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in gaining enlightenment in their lifetime... it was only due
to their traveling path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism!
Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism truly is epitome of spirituality. In present times if we were to truly reach our inner
self, one could never do without Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.
God Almighty never related to world of religion... world of rituals! The truth of God Almighty always existed in realm of spirituality... the true world of God Almighty! God Almighty was not form of human beings... it was cosmic consciousness, magnitude of which is beyond comprehension of mankind. Only by traveling spiritual path human beings finally realized what God was all about. The entity of God Almighty always lay hidden from human beings.
It is only by traveling spiritual path... true identity of God Almighty unveiled to mankind! Undertaking spiritual journey was a must for seekers of God Almighty. I again repeat... God Almighty could never be reached by one through path of religion... path of rituals! In present scientific age... none reached God via path of Vedas (Hinduism revelations). In present times... path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom as detailed in Bhagavad Gita was necessitated!
Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana started in search of God via path of religion... path of rituals... path of bhakti yoga! But finally realizing that God could not be reached via path of religion... path of bhakti... both finally switched to path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom! In their lifetime both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally reached God. Spirituality simply meant knowing truth of our real inner self... the spirit within!
No matter how best one tried... God Almighty could never be reached via path of religion. Simply by indulging in bhakti... chanting prayers in praise of God Almighty... worshipping God Almighty... none reached God! Reaching God meant realizing our very nature... our true inner self... our soul atman, the spirit within! We are primarily a spirit... cosmic consciousness that manifested human body to work out our karma... remove dross impurities within!
Life after life... body after body... this cycle of reincarnation... rebirth continued uninterrupted! As per Bhagavad Gita... the entire life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations in life of a soul atman was one single span of life... totally unbroken! Through complex process of karma... after death of mortal body, a soul atman kept manifesting body after body. The residual balance of present life at time of death of body became opening balance for next manifestation.
Does this mean doctrine of karma is governing in entire cosmos... yes, cosmic truth is so! As per law of karma... as we sow so shall we reap... nothing less or more! No matter what our physical indulgences... what passes to next life after death of body was residual balance of karma. A balance of good karma... positive karma from previous manifestations ensured better manifestation in next life. Those indulging in vice simply could not expect bright future ahead!
Spirituality and religion were poles apart... they had no relation whatsoever! Religion without spirituality carried no meaning but spirituality without religion meant everything to a seeker of God Almighty. Truly one could reach God in absence of religion... but never without spirituality! For reaching God one had to know difference between spirituality and religion. That was how God Almighty ordained human life to be.
I came in contact with many people who have been ceremoniously going to temples, churches or mosques! Some said... even after going to temples for 15 years in continuation two hours daily... they gained nothing in life. There is no dearth of people who experienced such phases in life. Yet, people continued traveling path of religion... path of rituals... that seemed much easier to travel than spiritual path!
We must always remember... we had one life to live... the present earthly domain of 70 to 80 years of life! After death of present body... we do not know what form our soul atman manifests in next manifestation! It is in our interest that we traveled spiritual path now. Stage of enlightenment... self realization is never reached of its own... we need to work for it! We had to undertake spiritual journey... path of unknown to reach God... to reach our true inner self!
There is no dearth of religious preachers preaching half baked theories to gullible mankind through medium of TV or Internet. It was not fault of preachers or religious teachers... it was our own fault that we preferred religious path to path of pure spirituality! Truly... gems of wisdom (jnana) laid in path of spirituality... never religion! The early we realized abstract truths of life... better for us! In the vast maze of religion... none would guide us truthfully!
We are always our judge in the journey of life. To distinguish false from truth is our domain... our personal responsibility! By seeking help from Bhagavad Gita... by indulging in teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita... one could definitely reach right decisions at the right time! Why look forward to so-called spiritual masters... preachers of religion who had no idea what they were talking about! Ignorance truly was not a merit on spiritual path. In the physical manifest world... maybe!
We must always indulge in truth... but absolute truth to reach God in our lifetime!
1. Directly from a spiritual preceptor... spiritual master... a spiritual guide who had gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in ones lifetime!
2. From sacred scriptures like Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism and Upanishads (independent treatises)! Spiritual guidance could never be gained through books of religion... path of ritual!
3. Through path of introspection... self enquiry... path of Neti (not this, not this)!
Spiritual guidance could never be imparted by spiritual master of its own. Unless the student was competent to gather words of wisdom (jnana in Hinduism)... one could never learn intricacies of spiritual path. It is the merit of student that mattered... not spiritual master! In present times... unless one had willpower demonstrated by Swami Vivekananda... none could cover spiritual journey as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.
In present times, following teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... any human being world over could easily gain enlightenment and reach end of cosmic life! In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over... only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally reached stage of enlightenment (also termed self realization... god realization)! Truly enlightenment was not that easily achieved.
By indulging in teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... by duplicating path undertaken by these spiritual stalwarts... I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age. This is my last manifestation on mother earth. Having reached 8.4 millionth manifestation, last in cosmic life cycle... nowhere else to go further, I shall but attain salvation moksha... moment I leave my mortal frame! On mother earth nothing is better than traveling spiritual path and reaching end of cosmic journey... stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana in Hinduism)!

One could never assimilate teachings of Bhagavad Gita literally... it was only through path of self enquiry... path of Neti (not this, not this) one finally succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)!
No matter how many times one indulged in different commentaries on Bhagavad Gita available free on Internet... essence could be digested only through path of self enquiry... path of Neti! It was only through path of introspection, wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita finally unveiled to us! Spiritual guidance online was only a medium... path of spirituality always had to be traveled all alone! Following path of absolute truthfulness human beings finally unveiled hidden inner meanings of wisdom contained in various shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita.
No matter how many spiritual retreats we went... how many spiritual coaching classes we attended... spiritual wisdom could only be gained by self introspection! Indulging in Satsanga was of great help... and so was invocation of pure thoughts. Good karma... positive karma was vital to spiritual awakening in life. By indulging in good karma... positive karma as dross impurities within our soul atman lessened... one finally experienced higher levels of spiritual realm! Practising celibacy on path of pure spirituality was of great help. One could finally transmute sexual energy towards the only goal of life... reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) forever!
Religious preachers... so called spiritual masters who preached... enlightenment could be delivered in hours were absolute ignorants in matters spiritual. Enlightenment... self realization... God realization could never be imparted by one... no matter what! Even if man gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or prophet Mohammed came and wanted to deliver enlightenment... self realization to masses in person... it could never be! Why? God Almighty ordained a journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form to reach stage of enlightenment... self realization... God realization! How much could a human being achieve in 70 to 80 years of physical manifest life on mother earth?
In the circumstances... can we still say, enlightenment... self realization could be imparted by one in person! Such teachings of religious nature never helped a serious seeker of spirituality. Essence of spirituality always lay in scriptures of Hinduism like Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads. Not that I was born in Hinduism religion... I advocate teachings of Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises). I was born a Jain but I always believed more in teachings of Bhagavad Gita than Jainism scriptures! Lord Krishna who gave doctrine of Bhagavad Gita to mankind came more than thousand years earlier to Mahavira... the 24 Tirthankara (preceptor) of Jainism. If God Almighty was the only truth of life... and God Almighty being super consciousness... the whole cosmic system consisted of only spirits!
To know reality of this spirit... indulgence in spiritual wisdom was ordained by God Almighty! It is only by traveling spiritual path human beings finally realized definition of God Almighty... the sum total of all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their purified state is what we called God Almighty. No soul atman could interfere with karma of another soul atman. Granting self realization to masses is a farce in the name of God Almighty. Such human beings are dealt with harshly by God Almighty... none could escape clutches of karma forever!
One can escape laws of society but never inscrutable laws framed by God Almighty. When arrives the opportune moment... one is finally behind gallows forever. Spiritual awakening also could not be taught in spiritual retreats, special spiritual coaching classes! Spiritual awakening always occurs from within. As dross impurities within our soul atman decreased... one experienced higher realms of spiritual pursuit! Negating karma to zero was goal of all human beings on mother earth. Karma negating to zero meant human beings reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) forever!
Spiritual awakening process is slow. In a lifetime of 70 to 80 years nothing much could be achieved on spiritual platform. However for a serious seeker of spirituality... one like Swami Vivekananda... nothing was impossible in this life! As God Almighty ordained a journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form... one must never search for a shortcut method to path of pure spirituality. Such ignorants of spiritual path are not fit enough to undertake spiritual journey... people who want all material comforts even while traveling spiritual path.
Spiritual path was only meant for serious seekers of spirituality like Swami Vivekananda. Unless one had the willpower exhibited by Swami Vivekananda... one could never gain enlightenment in present life. I started in search of God 11 years of age. By 13, my simple desire, wish turned to firm conviction. No matter what, come whatever may... in this very life I shall reach God! To reach God, I was even prepared to leave my family forever... only if god demanded so!
For total personal growth... it took full 25 years before I reached stage of self realization... God realization in the wee hours of third of August 1993! At 37 years of age... In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.
Spiritual development always occurred by traveling spiritual path as detailed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. In the present Kali Yuga... Dark Age... metal age... none could reach God without help of Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Unless one traveled path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom... reaching God in present life was totally out of question. Travelers of religious path... those indulging in rituals all the time never reached God in their lifetime.
We must learn to differentiate between spirituality and religion! Both spirituality and religion have different connotations. Spirituality was meant for knowing real self of us... our soul atman... the spirit within! Religion was purely meant for keeping flock of human beings bonded together. In present times religion played no role in reaching God. One could never reach God in present times through path of bhakti yoga... path of ritual!
Religion purely was meant for outer covering... the physical manifest form of human beings! Following religion... the highest stage a human being could reach as a physical manifest being was that of Maryada Purushottam Rama! Spirituality was dwelling in world of souls atmans... our inner core of life that existed in our heart. As long as our soul atman existed in our heart... we lived... the moment our soul atman left body... we were nothing more than a heap of dust.
It is also an absolute fact of life that in the entire history of mankind... apart from Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed... none in West reached stage of enlightenment. Stage of enlightenment is not reached that easily. Only by cutting across shackles of karma forever... human beings finally reached 8.4 millionth manifestation... last in cosmic life cycle! It is spiritual development in human beings that finally led one to negation of karma forever. Without undertaking spiritual journey karma could never be negated to zero.
Negation of karma to zero occurred moment human beings established absolute control over five senses and mind. Establishing total control over five senses and mind was a very tedious task... requiring many lifetimes before a soul atman finally became pure! Apart from establishing absolute control over five senses and mind... practice of absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation was necessitated. That was how God Almighty ordained spiritual journey to be. Those who thought spiritual journey can be made without indulgence in celibacy never gained much on spiritual path!
Practice of celibacy, negation of karma was part of spiritual path undertaken by human beings! Unless we practiced celibacy in totality for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation... full kundalini awakening was not possible. The coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine had to be activated. This became possible when we practiced absolute celibacy for a period of 12 years in continuation. Full kundalini awakening finally resulted in opening of Sahasra Pushpa (thousand petaled Lotus) existing in our brain behind forehead.
The moment Sahasra Pushpa opened fully... one immediately became an enlightened one... a bodhi... a Jina... a Mahavira! Spiritual meditation, practising celibacy, indulgence in self enquiry was the path... reaching stage of enlightenment... ultimate goal of life for all human beings. For right spiritual development... we had to indulge in good karma... positive karma all the time! Only then could we ever think of liberating self from cycle of birth and death forever. Every soul atman became pure only by negating karma to zero... never otherwise!

Path of spirituality was always one-way path... a path that must always be treaded with caution! God always helped those who always cared for benefit of mankind before self. My spiritual experience was nothing less than fantasy! When I was six years of age... I understood nothing about spirituality. Even precepts of religion were not clear to me. I really did not understand what God Almighty was all about. Whenever people talked of God Almighty... I imagined a decorated human being standing aloof... with human beings all around bowing, praying to him. That was the most I could imagine of God Almighty.
Repeatedly going to Jain temple on insistence of my mother made me think. How could God exist in those clay statues existing in Temple? I simply did not believe what people said. I wanted to enquire of my own. I wanted to know who God Almighty truly was. I wanted to go in search of God. I truly wanted to meet God in this very life. As a child I thought... God lay hidden somewhere; I had only to find him. How, I did not know! Whenever I asked an elder about God Almighty... all feigned ignorance. Even my mother did not know anything about God Almighty.
As my mother was closest to me than anyone else in this world... I initially thought my mother was hiding something from me. I thought... being a child my mother was not disclosing to me all truth about God Almighty. It was only later in life I realized... my mother was totally ignorant of the subject! My mother really did not know anything about God Almighty... then why the insistence on going to Jain temple and praying to God Almighty! My faith in my mother lay shattered. If my mother did not know anything about God Almighty, I had to find it on my own... was my surmise!
Slowly I came to realize that Lord Krishna was considered God in India. I started venturing into open fields with the hope that I may find god Krishna playing his flute. But that was not to be. Lord Krishna was only an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form)... and not God Almighty. Lord Krishna advent on this earth more than 3600 years ago... how could a child find him in present times! My curiosity to find god increased day by day. Every single moment of day when I was free... I thought of God Almighty. God was there in my dreams too as an integral part of my life!
By 13 years of age... my search for God firmed up... no matter what... come whatever may... in this very life I shall see and meet God! As was stipulated in Hinduism scriptures... I was even prepared to leave my family forever. I was prepared to go to deep dense jungles (forests) to search for God Almighty. My search for God prompted me to travel path of absolute truthfulness all throughout. Whenever I stood for truthfulness... it fascinated me beyond anything. I wanted to remain truthful all my life. I never did imagine for once that remaining truthful all the time... I could not indulge in any business in India in the later stages of life.
I had to be shrewd... I had to be cunning if I ever wanted to succeed in business. But for the sake of God, I was prepared for any sacrifice! I did not want to practice untruthfulness even once in my life. Whatever price I had to pay in search of God... I was prepared for that. My faith in God Almighty from beginning of life was absolute. Even if God Almighty came in person and tried swaying me from path of absolute truthfulness, I would have not! This absolute faith in God Almighty in the initial stages of life finally came to my rescue all the time in life.
I could hear the sweet small inner voice of my soul atman that seemed to come from within my heart. Prompted by the voice of my soul atman... I started my spiritual journey all alone. No matter how best I tried to search for a spiritual master to guide me in the journey of life... I got none! I searched all over India... I met different sadhus... swamis but none came to my rescue. Perhaps... all were ignorant in matters relating to God! Then I read somewhere that Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa knew everything about God. So was the case with Maharishi Ramana.
Whatever literature I could lay my hands on relating to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... I tried reading it all. Slowly the world of God started unveiling before me. I felt... I could duplicate the path taken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! Inherently I started practising celibacy (Brahmacharya Vrata) as practiced by Swami Vivekananda... the famous saint disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. I also started practice of self enquiry, Neti (not this, not this) as practiced and advocated by Maharishi Ramana.
Realizing that I had to cut across shackles of karma forever... I slowly started overpowering senses one by one. Unless I established absolute control over five senses... I could not establish total control over mind... was my surmise! I had to invoke blessings of God all the time to practice good karma... positive karma most of time! Initially it seemed really difficult but with passage of time... gradual control over senses became a reality! Remaining truthful all the time was a boon that helped me all the time in establishing absolute control over five senses.
Practising truthfulness all the time truly was a blessing in disguise. How many people do we feel were all the time truthful in daily affairs of life? We may not find even a handful of people world over who were totally truthful in all affairs of life. One who was totally truthful... finally succeeded in establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. Slowly I realized this absolute truth of life. My efforts to establish control over five senses increased day by day. It took me full 25 years before I finally succeeded in establishing absolute control over five senses and mind.
Practising absolute celibacy was another difficult task. For a bachelor like Swami Vivekananda... practising absolute celibacy was not that difficult. But for married people practice of Brahmacharya Vrata definitely seemed impossible. Only by hit and trial method I finally succeeded in practising celibacy for a period of 14 years in continuation. In the wee hours of third of August 1993, at 37 years of age I finally reached God Almighty... realized God... realized self! My spiritual experiences relating to God Almighty can never be expressed in words... but spiritual awakening experience while searching for God Almighty was beyond comprehension of spiritual terminology!
We truly are spiritual beings having a physical experience. We are a soul atman... the spirit within that manifested human form to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within! The moment complete dross impurities within a soul atman removed forever... one finally reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) forever. One finally becomes an enlightened one... a bodhi... a Jina... a Mahavira forever. Spiritual experiences never relate to religion... path of rituals. If we are to ever find God in this life... we have to undergo various spiritual experiences all the way.
The power of mind must never be underestimated by travellers of pure spirituality. Mind is directly connected to God Almighty. It is through power of mind human beings finally connected to God Almighty. It was through mind power human beings finally realized power of positive thoughts. Unless we traveled on different mental wavelengths... we never reached God Almighty. God Almighty lived on highest wavelength existing in cosmos that could ever be imagined by human beings. The moment we reached this wavelength... we came in contact with God Almighty! We could finally commune with God Almighty all the time on one-to-one basis. Wow!
Can we live without air or water in life? As we could not survive in absence of air or water... human beings also could not survive life in absence of spirituality. Importance of spirituality in life can only be realized after reaching stage of enlightenment... never before! Normal human beings are poles apart from field of pure spirituality. All preferred traveling religious path... that was easy to travel than path of pure spirituality... path of unknown!
How was spirituality and life of human beings connected? As per sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism we are primarily a spirit... a soul atman on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations. We are cosmic consciousness much beyond comprehension of most human beings. The identity of soul atman could never be known by a human being. It is beyond human comprehension to quantify what soul atman was all about. In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.
As journey of life belonged to our soul atman, the spirit within... spirituality played a pivotal role in life of human beings. Every soul atman manifested human form to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within. Removal of dross impurities within soul atman was never possible through path of religion... path of rituals! As a human being we had to indulge in spiritual precepts of life to reach cosmic end... the stage of enlightenment... termed kaivalya jnana in Hinduism!
Spirituality was as much part of life as human life itself. In absence of spirituality no life could survive on mother earth. Every form of life had to indulge in spirituality... good karma... positive karma to evolve to higher stages in life! It is through complex process of karma life moved ahead in cosmic life cycle. Laws of karma were integral to human beings traveling spiritual path. The journey of life was taken by the spirit within... and never the manifest physical human form!
For life to evolve... for human beings to evolve to higher stages in life... spirituality was necessitated in life. It was only through established laws of spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita human beings finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime. All man gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime by traveling path of pure spirituality.
Living a spiritual life was difficult... very difficult yet, not impossible! Spiritual life took human beings away from physical manifest world. For a serious seeker of spirituality... life on earthly domain carried no meaning. All relationships on earthly plane came to naught. Spiritual life is not something that could ever be learnt by coaching or in classes. For living a spiritual life... one had to indulge in wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.
In the present scientific age... teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita sufficed for human beings to live spiritual life finally leading human beings to stage of enlightenment at the end of journey. Spiritual life is knowing real inner self of us, identity of our soul atman... the spirit within! Eradicating all traces of karma within our soul atman was what spiritual life all about. The moment complete karma negated to zero human beings reached stage of enlightenment forever.
For living a spiritual life... presence of a spiritual adviser... guidance of a spiritual mentor... preceptor would be great help. But in the present scientific age... in the present Kali Yuga... Dark Age... metal age to expect a spiritual master seemed totally out of order. To get an enlightened one to guide us in the journey of spiritual life almost seemed impossible. One had to depend on spiritual books rather than a spiritual mentor... preceptor!
That was how God Almighty ordained spiritual system to be! In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over... only two spiritual stalwarts finally succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! Enlightenment was not that easily gained. Traveling spiritual path is walking razor's edge.
When I started in search of God 11 years of age... I had no perception what God Almighty was all about! It was only in the later stages of life I realized... how tough it was to travel spiritual journey. Probably all the time I was prepared for that from the beginning of life! The importance of spirituality in life was clear to me from six years of age when I took a vow to remain truthful all through life. Remaining truthful all along... I could hear the sweet small inner voice of my soul atman that seemed to come from within my heart.
This voice of my soul atman... the spirit within always guided me on the right path. Prompted by the voice of my soul atman... I finally landed in laps of God Almighty in 1993 at 37 years of age. I finally reached peak of spirituality... epitome of spiritual life when I realized God... realized self... in the early hours of third of August 1993. This is my last manifestation on mother earth. I have become a pure soul atman... a pure spirit! Released from cycle of birth and death forever... moment I leave my mortal frame... I shall but attain moksha salvation.
Precepts of spirituality... spiritual life are best detailed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the one and only sacred scripture knowing which human beings finally emancipated forever from cycle of birth and death. In the present age one need not refer to any other sacred scripture other than Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Assimilating pearls of wisdom contained in 700 shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita... any human being world over could finally reach God in ones lifetime. Amongst horde of spiritual books online available free to mankind... Hindu spiritual book that directly relates to spirituality... sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was the best... finest piece of work made available to mankind by grace of God Almighty. The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita given to mankind by Lord Krishna forms core of spirituality! If one had to reach God in present life time... we had no other alternative than to assimilate teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita!
Most spiritual books available in West carried no meaning. Those who had not yet reached stage of enlightenment were totally incompetent to discuss matters spiritual. Enlightenment as in Hindu philosophy was not that easily gained. In the West in the entire history of mankind only two persons reached stage of enlightenment... Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed! Comparatively in India hundreds if not thousands gained enlightenment in the entire history of mankind!
Truly India is the spiritual citadel of world. The teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism formed epitome of spirituality. Fathoming spiritual wisdom contained in 700 shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita... human gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and prophet Mohammed finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime. All of these man gods owed their wisdom directly to books of Hinduism... the revered Bhagavad Gita, Vedas and Upanishads!
Even in present Kali Yuga... Dark Age... metal age... if we searched for best books on spirituality... we would finally land reading sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. One single scripture... the sacred Bhagavad Gita sufficed for humanity to reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) forever! Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was no ordinary spiritual book. It contained truth... and only truth! With passage of time... teachings of Bhagavad Gita never diluted.

I am a Hindu... a Jain does not mean I prefer Hindu spiritual books to books of other religions. I was born a Jain yet, I believed more in teachings of Lord Krishna contained in Bhagavad Gita! From the very beginning of life I had absolute trust in teachings of Lord Krishna... one who came about thousand years earlier to coming of Mahavira... 24 Tirthankara (preceptor) of Jainism!
Talking of spirituality... none world over could ever find anything more beautiful than teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! It is Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism that tells us... how God Almighty exploded self to form present cosmos. Right from stage of big bang when present cosmos originated to dissolution of cosmos (termed Pralaya in Hinduism)... all is explained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism to minutest detail.
The big bang theory was discovered by scientists only few decades back but entire gist of big bang theory already existed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism from times immemorial... above 3600 years before now. Everything related to spiritual discipline... spiritual growth was detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. If our goal of life was reaching stage of enlightenment in present life... we could only do it with help of Bhagavad Gita... never otherwise!
Journey of spirituality to some seemed simple. As per Bhagavad Gita traveling spiritual path was walking razors edge. Spiritual journey demanded highest level of perfection that could ever be practiced by human beings. Human beings only of the level of Swami Vivekananda were fit enough to reach stage of enlightenment in present scientific age. Those who indulged in books of religion all the time... had many more lives to live. For them the present unending cycle of life was an ongoing process until they decide to travel spiritual path... not path of religion... rituals!
If someone asked... what is the best spiritual book to read... my recommendation simply would be... the sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism and no more! One may find numerous commentaries on Bhagavad Gita available free online and also in bookstores. But most people who wrote commentaries on Bhagavad Gita were incompetent to write such commentaries as they had not yet reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in their life.
Commentary on Bhagavad Gita by Adi Shankaracharya is foolproof. Adi Shankaracharya reached stage of enlightenment when very young. His commentary on Bhagavad Gita is in Sanskrit... difficult to understand by most! It is always better to get original doctrine of Bhagavad Gita from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India with English transliteration and that too for $.60 (Rs. 30/=).

Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana reached stage of self realization... God realization in their lifetime! There are many spiritual websites dedicated to them... but what of queries that existed within most human beings. Who was to solve them live on Internet? No matter how best one tried... one could not find an interactive website maintained by spiritual master himself.
Moment I reached stage of self realization in 1993... I had two alternatives:
1. Leave my mortal frame immediately and take moksha salvation forever.
2. Having reached stage of self realization... I could continue living my physical manifest life with unattached attitude.
This would help me impart teachings of spirituality... wisdom of Bhagavad Gita to mankind at large through medium of Internet or TV. I was just an entity of God Almighty. I had always to do his bidding. In serving mankind, I was only giving back to community what I gained on spiritual path. I am following path taken by Mahavira... the 24 Tirthankara of Jainism (preceptor)!
Mahavira gained enlightenment at 42 years of age. He continued giving discourses (termed Deshna in Jainism) to mankind for full 30 years. He left his mortal frame at 72 years of age!
